This post is for#1LinerWeds and I have one thing to say:
At all times I will bless the Lord my God who is my Higher Power in all things good and bad!!!
Please enjoy this lyric video of Mandisa’s “At All Times“!
That’s what’s in My Rattled Cage, thanks for stopping by and thank you to all who have served and are serving in all branches of the United States Military for the protection of our FREEDOMS!!!
For today’s #1LinerWeds I want to remind everybody “WE ALL BLEED THE SAME” in this time of strife and unrest in the United States as well growing globally due to the racial inequality of people of color by those few police officers that choose to use excessive force including the US Attorney General William Barr who gave the order to use tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the PEACEFUL protestors from Lafayette Park across from the White House so the current occupant could have a photo op.
Here we are at the letter “K” in the 2020 #AtoZChallenge. So, as I continue my musical journey through the alphabet, I am sharing music that is in my extensive Apple Music collection.
Today I have chosen such an appropriate song for the crazy times going on in this world. Mandisa’s Keep Getting Up is such an inspiring reminder that even when we fall or when life is not going the way we want, we just have to get back up and keep going.

Lyrics
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get it right the first time?
But that’s not how it goes for most
Change seems like it takes a lifetime
But He is patient with us and He invites us to trust
And hold onto hope, never let go
His love will always meet us there
When we get knocked down one more time
We swing hard but lose the fight
Don’t forget that the battle’s won
When we keep getting up, keep getting up
Wouldn’t it be great if when we fall we didn’t stay down so long?
Or get caught up in the past, keeping track of all the times it went wrong
What if we remembered we are loved and we believed that it’s enough?
To inspire us and light a fire in us to get up and try again
When we get knocked down one more time
We swing hard but lose the fight
Don’t forget that the battle’s won
When we keep getting up, keep getting up
So we keep getting up, keep getting up
It’s not gravity that tethers us to the ground
What if it’s only doubt and we can somehow shut it out
Get mad and shout, “I won’t stay down”
When we get knocked down one more time
We swing hard but lose the fight
Don’t forget that the battle’s won
When we keep getting up, keep getting up
So we keep getting up, keep getting up
Keep getting up
Lift your eyes, you are not alone
So keep getting up
Linda has given us the prompt “joint” for this week’s #SoCS. Wow, I could go so many place with this word some would be appropriate and some others might not. With my #AtoZChallenge2020 theme this year being music from my extensive Apple Music playlist, I have chosen to add some JOY to this JOINT!!
I have chosen two completely different songs. The first is Mandisa’s Joy, Unspeakable and the second one is For King and Country’s Joy.
The reason I have gone this route is because with all the craziness of COVID-19 and the isolation of having to be sheltered in place other than essential workers and going to get the essentials, I believe that we can all use a little or a lot of joy in whatever joint we are in. If you have a joint or two that are hurting maybe these songs will still put some pep in your step. Perhaps even if you wanted to or needed to for medical purposes, which I have never liked the stuff – I had problems with other things, perhaps you may have a joint – which may bring you joy.
Either way, I hope you enjoy these two songs. You can find the lyrics by clicking on the title. That’s what’s in My Rattled Cage, thanks for stopping by!!
For today’s#AtoZChallenge2020, I have chosen a song that definitely expresses how I feel as I come up on a new 90 days of sobriety. Tomorrow I will celebrate 90 days and without picking up a 90 day chip until after this craziness is over. I am so happy with where I am and I just need to keep doing the work. After the crazy month of December and the harsh early beginning of January – I had to really make the decision that I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I hope you enjoy this song by Mandisa, Back to Life.

Lyrics
I breathe out confusion
I breathe in Your truth
I breathe out all my fear
I breathe in Your peace
I, I’m coming back to life
I’m feeling hope arise
Because of You, only You
Jesus…
I, I’m leaving the rest behind
My heart is satisfied
Because of You, only You
Jesus!
I lay down my weakness
I take on Your strength
I lay down my defenses
I step into Your victory!
I, I’m coming back to life
I’m feeling hope arise
Because of You, only You
Jesus…
I, I’m leaving the rest behind
My heart is satisfied
Because of You, only You
Jesus!
Only You, Jesus!
Shame and depression, and all anxieties
They have no power over me
Addiction and strongholds, and every disease
They have no power over me, o-o-o-o-ohh
Shame and depression, and all anxieties
They have no power over me, oh!
Addiction and strongholds, and every disease
They have no power over me, oh!
Oh I, I’m coming back to life
I’m feeling hope arise
Because of You, only You
Jesus…
I, I’m leaving the rest behind
My heart is satisfied
Because of You, only You
Jesus…
I, I’m coming back to life
I’m feeling hope arise
Because of You, only You
Jesus…
Oh I, I’m leaving the rest behind
My heart is satisfied
Because of You, only You
Jesus
Because of You, only You
I’m coming back to life
Oh thank You Jesus
Oh thank You Jesus
I’m coming back to life
I’m coming back to life
Thank You Lord
I’m coming back, I’m coming back to life
This post is very simple as Mandisa so plainly reminds me in her song God began a work in me and he will continue to work on me because I am just UNFINISHED!!!

I am so excited that today my journey begins to a mouth full of new pearly whites by having my remaining teeth removed, but enough about me!!
“O” is for OVERCOMER!!! Thriving, not just surviving with HIV/AIDS for over 22 years, being bipolar and dealing with off and on bouts of depression and of course my issues with chronic relapses and return to recovery – I know that YES I AM AN OVERCOMER!!!!
That’s what’s in “My Rattled Cage”, thanks for stopping by!!!
There's a new sun burning, and soft fruits ripening, my precious grizzled tresses tumbling, Dylan's humming 'The times they are a changing', these parting verses are mere shadows merging ...
