For the serious part of this post, I must always be mindful of my triggers towards a relapse. H.A.L.T. is a strong indicator for me, but another trigger is the extreme chronic pain I suffer in both hips and my cervical and lumbar spine areas. A lot of my degeneration and scoliosis have been caused by many years of being considered overweight – multiple years of alcohol and cocaine abuse, along with over 22 years of taking HIV/AIDS medications.

For me the most important of my staying in recovery is sticking to a routine of specific meetings online during the week, mass on the weekdays and on the weekend and of course writing about my struggles  and my triumphs through recovery.
