The hit song from From Walt Disney’s “Song of the South” released in 1946 was “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”. Enjoy!!
Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, I am a little late with my “Z”, but here it is and I made it through another #AtoZChallenge. I am so glad that I participated in this the 10th Anniversary of the Blogging From A to Z Challenge. My first year was in 2015 with my previous blog What’s Rattling My Cage.
So yeah, I did it, we all did it and I cannot wait until next April!!!! Thank you so much to A to Z Team for their hard work with this challenge every year!!
That’s what’s in “My Rattled Cage”, thanks for stopping by!!!!
Often when mired down in the chronic pain, manic episodes and just feeling like crud I am reminded by my love for God and Christ that I was found and I thank them and remind them that You Found Me as sung by Mercy Me!!
When each of us begin to fell less that, or that we will always have to struggle through whatever life is throwing at us, just take a listen to this awesome song by Lauren Daigle, You Say!!
Finally this song by Wynona Judd that was sung by her in an episode of Touched By An Angel says it best and I will say that for all of you bloggers that have participated in this #AtoZChallenge, I have loved hopping and reading your posts as a participant myself. Thank you for your visiting my blog as well and always remember You and Your Writings Were Loved!!!!

The Merriam-Webster Dictionarygives the following full definition for XYLOPHONE: a percussion instrument consisting of a series of wooden bars graduated in length to produce the musical scale, supported on belts of straw or felt, and sounded by striking with two small wooden hammers.
When I started my original blog “What’s Rattling My Cage!” in August 2014, I wanted this to be a blog where I would write about politics, relationships, issues in education, and anything else that I chose to write about. That being my current blog has turned into such a wonderful tool for me to help educate and help others who suffer or have loved ones that suffer from alcoholism/addictions to anything (mine so happens to be cocaine); being a proud homosexual in a still homophobic world and living with HIV/AIDS for 18 years at that point. I lost access to the original blog in 2017 and so I began a new blog titled My Rattled Cage in August 2017.
This blog has have continued a tool of my recovery from my alcoholism/addiction to cocaine. There is nothing greater than being able to be open and honest about who you are, where you have been and where you are going. In Chapter Five “How It Works” of the Big Book Alcoholics Anonymous it states, “our stories disclose what we were like, what happened and what we are like now!” How great is it that I have a forum to do just that!! TELL MY STORY!! I love it.
Why did I pick the XYLOPHONE post? Because I want to make as much noise as possible to congratulate myself at the end of the Blogging From A to Z April 2019 Challenge! Why, because I did my first A to Z Challenge in 2014 and have participated since then a few times. I believe I have done just that and I am so proud because I have increased my numbers followers, I continue to gain followers and impressions through WordPress, Facebook and Twitter and my love for blogging has grown exponentially!! You see I may not have a contract and get paid to write – but guess what – I am published and it feels awesome!!!

It is great to know that throughout all of life’s challenges, some created by me and those that come naturally I know that I am right Where I Belong currently in this life. The other great thing is that I know that when it is all said and done and I leave this earth, I also know that I will be going Where I Belong because John 3:16 tells me so!!! I am a true believer in God and His Son Jesus Christ!!
There are two songs both of the same title Where I Belong that I really like. The first is by Mercy Me and the second is by Building 429. Enjoy!

This post is very simple as Mandisa so plainly reminds me in her song God began a work in me and he will continue to work on me because I am just UNFINISHED!!!

Everyday that I wake up and don’t just come to, I am always reminded that I need to Take a Little Time to be so grateful for all that my God has created, especially all of the wonderful things in nature. I love the spring when all of my trees and flowers in my yard start gaining their brand new leaves. I love when I walk the four-legged babies along the San Antonio River and see all of the geese, ducks, turtles, fish and even snakes out enjoying their natural environment. I also need to take the time to thank God for all my blessing and even my chastisements. Jeremy Camp’s song Take a Little Time is a great reminder!!
And then in those times when my or anyone’s manic episodes are on the rise and the depression is trying to creep in with those stinking thinking thoughts of want to drink or use, I need to also remember that God always will Take You Back also by Jeremy Camp!!!

I love it when I am reminded that my heart and soul are indeed spoken for. Even though I may have my struggles, I know that my God has my back because my heart has been Spoken For. Please enjoy Spoken For by MercyMe!!
Try as I might I could not find an official audio,lyric or music video for this song, however I like this particular YouTube video of the song.

So today I am playing catch up on my #AtoZChallenge because I have been a little under the weather and recovering after having my remaining 9 teeth removed last Wednesday 4/17/19 to make room for a whole mouth of new pearly white dentures. I was in a bit of pain and extremely tired since I have been unable to eat any substantially filling food for over a week. Today I will be posting for R, S, T, U, V, W and X and I will be caught up.
Recovery for me is such an important topic. Currently I am recovering from dental surgery and I can feel my mouth healing and I am so glad for that. This means we will be on our way to getting my dentures in a quicker fashion that we thought. So I am extremely happy for the work that my dentist did.
The other part of RECOVERY for me as is known through my writings is from alcoholism and addiction to cocaine. You see, recovery is never a one and done. Anyone who tells you that is is delusional. I do suffer from chronic relapse disease with returns to recovery. Today I share with two songs about recovery from addiction. You Found Me by The Fray and I Surrender by Hillsong United.
When I think of REVIVAL, there is nothing greater to me than going to Mass and receiving Communion and being reminded that this Sacrament is exactly that a revival for my body and soul for that 24 hour period!! For your enjoyment Revival by Zach Williams!!
We all can use a bit of remembering that we are special no matter what is going on in our lives. We also need to remember that we are loved and we must always love ourselves and make sure that if we are in need of assistance with any type of addiction or mental health issue that it can be found if we want it. We must remember that we will not change if we do not truly want to change!!! I give you Remember by Lauren Daigle!!

In keeping with my Holy Week theme, today is Good Friday and I am so blessed that I am alive and well although still in some pain from my extractions on Wednesday. Today I am sharing two versions of Quiet Hour. The first is a a song by Chuck Girard and takes me back to the 1970’s with it’s vibe. I was a mere youngster and preteen in the 70s.
The second is a Hymn called Quiet Hour and try and try as I might I could not find the author nor a video of it being sung so I have just included the words below from the website Songs and Praise.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Good Friday and most BLESSED Easter weekend!!!!
Quiet hour Hymn
Communion with my Father,
In calm and quiet hour,
Is sweet and rich in blessings,
And Spirit’s gracious power;
He speaks in tones so gentle,
He hears my humblest prayer,
In secret of His presence
I feel my Father’s care.
Refrain
O Father, Spirit, Savior,
Fill us with Thine own power;
O, lead Thy loving children
To seek the quiet hour.
When storms are fierce about me,
And sorrow’s billows roll,
I hear the Master gently
Speak peace unto my soul;
When heart is sore with anguish,
And eyes are dim with tears,
A quiet hour with Jesus
Will banish pain and fears.
Refrain
Oh, leave life’s noise and turmoil,
And seek the quiet hour,
That He who sees in secret
May give thee spirit-power;
There find your strength in weakness,
And gird your armor on,
Then forth to life’s great conflict
Till victory is won.
Refrain

There's a new sun burning, and soft fruits ripening, my precious grizzled tresses tumbling, Dylan's humming 'The times they are a changing', these parting verses are mere shadows merging ...
